Appellate Judge Patrick Quinn Dies In His Chambers
From Fox News
The second most senior judge in the First District Illinois Appellate Court died Wednesday in his chambers.
Justice Patrick J. Quinn, 60, was found unresponsive in a bathroom inside his chambers at the First District Appellate Court, 160 N. La Salle St., officials said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's office confirmed the death, adding that an autopsy is scheduled Thursday to investigate the cause of death.
Justice P. Scott Neville, who worked closely with Quinn, said he doesn't believe there was foul play.
Quinn, who served 17 years on the court, was the last person Neville spoke with Tuesday evening, he said. Quinn called Neville to remind him they were hosting a seminar at the Chicago Bar Association Wednesday afternoon, Neville said.
"He was one of my best friends on this court," Neville said, who is the chairman of the First District Appellate Court executive committee.
Quinn was elected to the appellate court in 1996. He was the supervisor for the Sixth Municipal Court from 1989 to 1991 and was a member of several committees, including district's executive committee, Neville added.
